Home Care Charges Consultation
Welcome to the home care charging consultation.
In Hammersmith and Fulham there is a greater need for social care than has been the case before. In 2008/09, it is estimated that adult social care will require approximately £1,271,000 more than there is in the budget to meet the needs of those who, at the current threshold, are eligible for services. This figure rises to £1,375,000 by 2010/11.
One way in which the council might meet the pressures on adult social care is to charge service users for home care.
Nationally, ninety seven percent of councils with social services responsibilities charge for home care. Hammersmith and Fulham is currently one of the three per cent that do not.
The council is currently consulting on a proposal to charge for home care.
