Controlled Parking Zone I Review & Wendell Park Transport Improvements - Consultation
Introduction
Controlled Parking Zone I was first introduced in 1997 and comprises over 20 streets from Goldhawk Road in the south of the zone, to Askew Road in the east and to the Borough boundaries with Ealing and Hounslow.
Since the zone was last reviewed, the entire borough has seen an increase in car ownership, new housing developments and improvements to commercial areas. These factors have contributed to increased demand for parking across the borough and generated parking and transport issues.
Parking controls in Zone I currently operate from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Parking is available for all residents and businesses who display a valid permit, and for any visitor who purchases a pay & display ticket – up to a maximum of 8 hours. In addition, drivers who display a blue disabled badge can park without payment or time limit in general parking bays.
The Council is giving residents the opportunity to provide feedback on transport issues in the area and offering a number of options to improve parking arrangements in Controlled Parking Zone I.
