Draft fourth London Safety Plan

Building on success - our plans for 2010/13

Welcome to the London Fire Brigade’s consultation on the draft London Safety Plan 2010/13. This is the fourth London Safety Plan. It explains how the Brigade will build on its reputation as one of the world’s leading fire and rescue services.

The London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, which runs London Fire Brigade, agreed that the ideas contained in the draft fourth London Safety Plan would lead to significant improvements in services, whilst ensuring London’s taxpayers continue to get value for money.

The draft plan proposes a shake up of how some specialist vehicles and equipment are located across the capital, delivering greater efficiency and improvement in the way that equipment is deployed and firefighters are trained. It also includes new performance targets, which will see the Brigade aim to reduce fires which damage property, reduce arson and reduce the number of unwanted calls we attend.

This consultation focuses on these issues. If you want to read the draft London Safety Plan in detail, please download a copy of the plan here. Otherwise the main points are available within the consultation.
