"Web accessibility refers to the inclusive practice of making websites usable by people of all abilities and disabilities." Wikipedia
Citizen Space has been independently reviewed for accessibility by The Shaw Trust Web Accreditation group. It meets W3C WAI WCAG 1.0 & 2.0 Level AA and aims for AAA where practicable. We also provide ARIA enhanced accessibility features. Please see our Accessibility Policy for more details.
Citizen Space generates valid XHTML/1.0, which means that it will support the widest possible range of web browsers and assistive technologies, both now and in the future. We also go to great lengths to make sure our software is usable in older browsers such as Internet Explorer 6 and 7, which are not, themselves, fully standards-compliant.
In addition to XHTML (for structuring web pages) and CSS (for styling them), we make use of other web standards such as RSS and RDFa, which help our software to play nicely with others. Citizen Space also complies with government e-GIF standards for data interchange.
Automated validation and manual cross-browser testing are integral parts of our quality assurance process.
