Review of Day Opportunities in Bristol for people with Health and Social Care needs
Overview
This consultation seeks views on the purpose and appropriate model of day opportunities for service users and carers who are eligible to receive services funded by Bristol City Council.
Day opportunities include attendance at a day centre, supported activities in the community, supporting people to access employment openings, education and leisure pursuits
We are looking at services for older people (including dementia), disabled adults, and people with Learning difficulties: the solutions may be different.
Why we are consulting
Bristol City Council is reviewing the way in which day opportunities are provided in order to develop a model which provides:
· greater choice and control for service users and carers
· the best service within available resources
This is in line with the national agenda of personalising services and is also in the context of achieving better value for money.
We want to hear from a range of views: people who currently use day centres; people who choose not to; service users who might need day services in the future; carers.
